BEIJING, June 25, 2025 – The World Sustainability Standard Organization (WSSO), in close collaboration with DeepGreenX Group, successfully concluded its 3rd International Standard Project Review Meeting in Beijing on June 25, 2025. This landmark meeting has further advanced the development of global sustainability standardization, laying a solid foundation for aligning international standards and boosting global low-carbon transition efforts.
During the meeting, a total of 10 international standard proposals were rigorously reviewed, covering key areas critical to global sustainable development—including renewable energy certification, green hydrogen technology application, and carbon accounting and verification. These proposals closely reflect the latest emerging trends in low-carbon technologies and sustainable development practices, with the core goal of strengthening and improving the global sustainability standards framework, and filling the gaps in related fields.
A high-level expert panel was assembled to conduct a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation of each proposal. The evaluation focused on three core dimensions: technical feasibility, alignment with established international systems (such as ISO and IEC standards), and global applicability across different regions and industrial scenarios. The ultimate aim of the review was to ensure that all proposed standards are scientifically sound, internationally compatible, and practically implementable, enabling them to be widely adopted and applied globally.
The successful conclusion of the 3rd International Standard Project Review Meeting has further strengthened international coordination on sustainability standards, and made significant contributions to:
• Promoting the consistency and integration of global sustainability standards, eliminating regional standard gaps and facilitating cross-border cooperation;
• Providing strong standardization support for the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement and the achievement of global carbon neutrality goals;
• Enhancing international cooperation in global sustainability governance, gathering global wisdom and strength to address common sustainable development challenges.
Moving forward, WSSO will continue to deepen cooperation with global partners, including industry organizations, research institutions, and enterprises, to accelerate the research, formulation and revision of sustainability standards. It will also actively promote the broader international adoption of these standards, striving to build a more coordinated, efficient and inclusive global sustainability governance system, and injecting strong momentum into the global pursuit of sustainable development.
